  • Dear Volunteer, Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the City of Vergennes. We are grateful for your willingness to support our community and municipal programs. As a City of Vergennes volunteer, you are considered an authorized municipal volunteer when you are formally approved and performing assigned duties under City supervision. This designation helps ensure your safety, provides appropriate insurance protections, and allows the City to responsibly manage volunteer activities. Volunteers serve under the direction of City staff and may only perform assigned duties. Safety is a priority. You will receive guidance on potential risks and protective measures before beginning work. Volunteers must report any injury, incident, or concern immediately to their City supervisor. Volunteers are not City employees and are not covered by workers’ compensation. Volunteers are expected to act professionally, maintain confidentiality when applicable, and follow all City policies. Your supervisor will review your specific role, expectations, and safety procedures with you before you begin. We truly appreciate your time, energy, and commitment to the City of Vergennes.
