This year the annual Vergennes Junior Fishing Derby will be in person!! This is a free event and open to all kids ages 3-15. The Vergennes Junior Fishing Derby seeks to introduce young people to the benefits and enjoyment of fishing and to encourage them to share the sport with others. Fishing will begin at 5:00AM on Friday June 24th and go until 9:00PM, and reopen on Saturday June 25th at 5:00AM and end at 9:00PM. Participants will have the opportunity to go fishing during those two days at the Vergennes Falls basin. Weigh Stations will be open on both sides of the river. Winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony that will be held on Saturday August 6th at the Vergennes Pool. BoundariesFish from the falls to the marked boundries on each side of the river. The docks at Falls park are off limits due to construction. How to Enter a FishAll fish must be recorded at the weigh station closest to where you caught your fish. Only legal fish will be weighed. Awards
Awards will be given to the top 3 game and non game fish caught in each division. A grand prize fro the top game and non game fish will be awarded, as well as the Robert Karzmarzyk and sportsmanship awards.
