Bike Smart, Safe, & Confident • Register • View Cart •

The Bike Smart program  teaches children in grades PreK through 8 how to bike smartly, safely, and confidently with volunteers trained by Local Motion staff.  Have fun while learning valuable and lifelong skills.  All bikes, equipment,and supplies are provided for on-bike skills training. (We have a limited amount of balance bikes, if you have one please bring it with you. This program will be held at the basketball courts (transformed to a bicycle course) at Veterans Park.

This program is designed for children that can ride a bike. Children will learn the basic safety rules of the road, hand signals, and balance through an array of games and activities.

This program is designed for children who can not ride a bike without any assistance. Glider bikes will be used to get them used to balancing and gliding.

Bike Smart Advanced Beginner

This class will teach experienced riders rules of the road, proper hand signals, and control. Children will be brought on a bike ride though Vergennes to practice these skills.
