VAYL
Offering
VAYL will offer full programs for children ages 4-12. All COVID-19 safety precautions must be adhered to including mask wearing at all times, maintaining a distance of 6 feet from others, adequate hand washing/sanitizing, and self-monitoring for COVID-19 symptoms. VAYL will be following local, state, and Little League Best Practices in regards to COVID-19 protocols, which are subject to a season cancellation at any time.

Please see the
Divisions page for a full explanation of programs offered.

Foam ball, tee ball, farm baseball and softball, and minors baseball and softball will be offered at no cost to players in 2021.These divisions will focus on fundamentals and participate in practices-only, with the possibility to scrimmage other VAYL teams at the league's and coaches' discretion. After a 2-year hiatus from this sport, VAYL is committed helping young athletes learn and develop the basic skills of baseball/softball.

Majors baseball and softball will be offered at a discounted rate of $20/player (normally $50/player). There will also be a strong focus on fundamentals and skill development, with the option to scrimmage other VAYL teams, and possibility to compete against other Addison County Majors' teams, dependent on local and state guidelines at the league's and coaches' discretion.

Volunteers
VAYL has always been a league that relies on volunteers to provide a successful program for the players. Volunteers will be more important than ever in 2021 due to COVID-19 precautions. Team sizes will be smaller (equating to more teams) and additional help will be needed for temperature checks and equipment sanitation. Please consider volunteering - more info can be found on the Volunteers page.

Equipment
As in past seasons, players are responsible for providing their own baseball/softball gloves. Due to COVID-19, Little League Best Practices encourages players to bring their own equipment such as batting helmets, bats, and catcher's equipment when possible. VAYL volunteers will maintain sanitation of shared equipment but highly recommends that players provide their own batting helmets.

VAYL Traditions
Unfortunately, VAYL will not be able to continue their annual traditions in 2021 such as Day of Ball, team/individual photos, and the Lake Monsters Night at the Ballpark.
