in partnership with Vergennes Parks & Recreation & Catamount Trail Association

bixby snowshoe

During February & March 2021, the Bixby Library is partnering with Vergennes Parks & Recreation to lend snowshoes from Thursday to Tuesday each week. The collection includes two adult large (25”), six adult regular (20”) and four youth pairs (generally for kids ages 6 and up).

Many thanks to the Catamount Trail Association for loaning us these beautiful new snowshoes to share.

Checking Out Snowshoes:
Snowshoes will be lent to adult Bixby Library cardholders from Thursdays through Tuesdays each week for the remainder of February. Patrons are invited to use the link here to choose a week they’d like to check out the snowshoes and to specify sizes they will need. Patrons will also need to read and sign a virtual waiver prior to picking up your snowshoes.

The librarian at the Bixby will make sure that patrons requesting snowshoes are in good standing at the library and check out the requested snowshoes on the patron’s account. Snowshoes will be available for pickup the Thursday requested during normal curbside pickup hours (2:00pm-7:00pm) although patrons are invited to call (802) 877-2211 if they need to schedule a different time on a Thursday.

Patrons are responsible for returning the snowshoes during library hours the following Tuesday (10am to 2pm). Patrons are also financially responsible for any lost or damaged snowshoes during their lending period; patrons will be fined $50.00.
